Andrew Bhak

Andrew Bhak is a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division of Morgan Stanley. Within the firm's healthcare investment banking practice, Mr. Bhak is responsible for the healthcare services providers and facilities sector. Mr. Bhak rejoined Morgan Stanley in January 2007 from Deutsche Bank Securities, where he held a similar position in the Global Banking Division. Prior to his career as an investment banker, he spent 10 years as a senior equity research analyst covering the healthcare facilities and services sector, including at Morgan Stanley. Before coming to Wall Street, Mr. Bhak was with the Health Financing Group of the GAO, the investigative arm of Congress, where he worked on a range of Medicare and Medicaid issues. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the National Emphysema Foundation.

Michael Cowan, MD

 As the Chief Medical officer for Health Services at BearingPoint, Dr. Cowan is responsible for leading BearingPoint's thought leadership in the healthcare and social services markets. Dr. Cowan has extensive executive experience within the healthcare industry, both in the private and public sectors. Previously, Dr. Cowan served as senior vice president for Healthcare Solutions at Oracle Corporation, where he led their strategic solutions practice for public and private sector healthcare in North America. Prior to joining Oracle, Dr. Cowan had a distinguished career with the U.S. Navy, where most recently he served as its 34th Surgeon General.
Dr. Cowan has also been a leading force for innovations in information technology throughout his career, leading and directing the development and implementation of several programs including Tricareonline, Navy Medicine Online, the Worldwide Pharmacy Transaction Data Base, and the TRICARE Unified Enrollment Database.
Dr. Cowan earned his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis and completed his postgraduate training at Bethesda Naval Medical Center. He is certified by the American College of Physician Executives as a Certified Physician Executive and was recognized by the American Medical Association as its AMA Outstanding Federal Health Executive of the Year in 1999.

Thomas Enders, III

Mr. Enders is a Managing Director and Senior Partner with CSC's Global Health Solutions Practice. Mr. Enders concentrates on projects involving strategy, organizational effectiveness, and information technology (preferably in combination). He has served the majority of the top academic health centers and many of their affiliated medical schools, is working with the country's leading integrated delivery systems and faith based systems, and is a long standing consultant to associations such as the Voluntary Hospital Association of America (VHA) and the University Health System Consortium. Mr. Enders was recognized as CSC's Quality Partner of the Year for 2003. He received an AB from the University of Chicago and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. He serves on the board of the Forest Guild, an organization which promotes ecological forestry.

Bob Galvin, MD

 Robert Galvin, MD, is Director of Global Healthcare for General Electric (GE). In addition to responsibility for GE's $3B annual health spend, he oversees GE's clinical group, encompassing over 215 clinics in 30 countries and leads health policy for the corporation. In his current role Dr. Galvin has focused on issues of market-based health policy and financing, with special interest in performance measurement, payment reform, and the assessment and coverage of new technologies. He is a co-founder of The Leapfrog Group and the founder of Bridges to Excellence. He is on the Board of Directors of the National Committee for Quality Assurance and is a member of the Commonwealth Fund's Commission on a High Performance Health System. He has also served on several Institute of Medicine Committees.
Dr. Galvin's work has received awards from the National Health Care Purchasing Institute, The National Business Group on Health and the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and his work has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine and Health Affairs. He is a Professor Adjunct of Medicine at Yale where he leads the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar seminar series on the private sector.

 Eric H. Schultz is the President and CEO of Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP), a nationally recognized health care services company that offers innovative health insurance solutions and services for our changing society.
Prior to being named President and CEO of FCHP, Schultz held executive positions with CIGNA Healthcare and Prudential Healthcare. He also served as Medical Group Administrator for Nashville Healthcare Group, Nashville’s largest primary care group practice.
Schultz holds an MBA in Health Care Leadership from Yale University’s School of Management, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Connecticut.
An active member of the community, in 2006 Schultz received the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award, which he describes as the “most meaningful” award he has ever received. He is President of the Mohegan Council Boy Scouts; Vice Chairman of the Massachusetts Association of Health Plans; and board member of The Kenneth B. Schwartz Center, United Way of Central Massachusetts, and the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is past President of the Worcester Regional Research Bureau and past Chairman of the Alliance of Community Health Plans in Washington, D.C.

Sam Srivastava

 Sam K. Srivastava joined CIGNA HealthCare in November 2006 as the President of the Senior Segment and in February of 2008 his role was expanded to include leadership of the National Segment, serving employers with 5,000 or more employees. He has executive management responsibility for the strategic planning, business operations, growth and financial performance for these segments which serve approximately 18 million individuals.
With over 17 years experience in health care, Srivastava has held executive leadership positions in the commercial, senior, low-income and disabled population segments at UnitedHealth Group and HealthNet. He has also been a management consultant in the United States and internationally, primarily focusing on the areas of developing and improving integrated health care delivery systems for providers, insurers and governments.
Srivastava graduated from Kent State University with a BA in Medical Science & Humanities and completed graduate work at Yale University in Health Care Management. He resides in Wilton, Connecticut with his wife and four daughters.

Nancy Yedlin

 Nancy C. Yedlin, MPH, Vice President, leads the Foundation's efforts to improve the transfer of promising research results for use in the health care practice and policy worlds. In this role, Nancy works with Donaghue grantees, other foundations and individuals and institutions from across the health care spectrum on projects and initiatives aimed at knowledge uptake.
She plays an instrumental role in the design of Donaghue's conferences and public outreach efforts on the issue. Nancy joined the Foundation in September 2005 as Director, Program Communication & Management with responsibility for managing two of the Foundation grant programs.
Nancy received her master's degree in Public Health from the Yale School of Medicine in 1981. For over 15 years, Nancy worked in the managed care and corporate benefit arena. She held leadership positions at Healthnet/PHS and in the Health Benefits Strategy Group at Pitney Bowes Corporation. Nancy lives with her family in New Haven. |

Greg Licholai, MD, MBA

 Dr. Licholai is the Vice President of Medical Affairs at Amicus Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of a new class of small molecule, orally-administered drugs to treat a range of human genetic diseases. Prior to joining Amicus in 2004, he was a venture capitalist at Domain Associates, where he helped fund biotechnology and medical device start-up companies. Previously he was director of Ventures and Business Development for Medtronic Neurological, where he managed a global portfolio of novel drug delivery and neurological treatments for diseases such as Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, CNS malignancies and chronic pain syndromes. Dr. Licholai trained at the Brigham and Women's, Children's, and Massachusetts General Hospitals. During his residency, Dr. Licholai also worked on hospital efficiency and merger strategies for Integral Consulting. He was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Scholar at the National Institutes of Health. He did research in molecular genetics at Yale University and examined variants in hereditary blood diseases. Dr. Licholai also worked in molecular oncology at Rockefeller University. Additionally, while at Harvard Business School, he worked with Novartis and Millennium Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Licholai received his B.S. from Boston College and Pre-Medical studies at Columbia University, his M.D. from Yale Medical School and his M.B.A from Harvard Business School. |

 Mr. El-Hibri has served as chief executive officer and chairman of the board of directors of Emergent Biosolutions Inc., since June 2004 and as president from March 2006 to April 2007. Mr. El-Hibri served as chief executive officer and chairman of the board of directors of BioPort Corporation from May 1998 until June 2004, when, as a result of corporate reorganization, BioPort became a wholly owned subsidiary of Emergent. Mr. El-Hibri served as chairman of Digicel Holdings, Ltd., a privately held telecommunications firm, from August 2000 to October 2006. He served as president of Digicel from August 2000 to February 2005. Mr. El-Hibri has served as chairman of East West Resources Corporation, a venture capital and financial consulting firm, since June 1990. He served as president of East West Resources from September 1990 to January 2004. Mr. El-Hibri is a member of the board of trustees of American University and a member of the board of directors of the International Biomedical Research Alliance, an academic joint venture among the NIH, Oxford University and Cambridge University. He also serves as chairman and treasurer of El-Hibri Charitable Foundation. Mr. El-Hibri received a master's degree in public and private management from Yale University and a B.A. in economics from Stanford University. |

 Dr. Knight has worked in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries for over sixteen years. Prior to joining Fidelity in 2003, Dr. Knight was president and chief operating officer for EPIX Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, Massachusetts. For six years before joining EPIX, Dr. Knight worked at Arthur D. Little Inc., primarily as a senior consultant in Cambridge and Brussels, Belgium specializing in mergers and acquisitions in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to 1990, Dr. Knight performed research at AT&T Bell Laboratories (now Lucent Technologies), the National Institutes of Health, and at Yale University.
Dr. Knight holds an M.D. from the Yale University School of Medicine and an M.B.A. from the Yale School of Organization and Management. Dr. Knight received a B.S. in biology from Columbia University, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
Dr. Knight currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for EnVivo Pharmaceuticals.  Professor Forman is a health services researcher focusing on diagnostic radiology, health policy, and healthcare leadership. His most recent publications address Teleradiology, international outsourcing, the incentives that medical students respond to in choosing a specialty, and ensuring quality in imaging services. Professor Forman teaches healthcare policy in the Yale School of Public Health and Healthcare Economics in the Yale College Economics Department. He is the faculty founder and director of the MD/MBA program between Yale School of Medicine and Yale School of Management as well as the co-director of the School of Management's MBA for Executives Program. As a practicing cross-sectional and emergency/trauma radiologist, he is actively involved in patient care and issues related to financial administration, healthcare compliance, and contracting. He has worked in the US Senate, as a legislative fellow, working on Medicare legislation. His most recent consulting engagements have involved Medicare finance and reimbursement, Teleradiology, as well as Radiology Benefit Management.

Ellen is the Yale School of Management’s Executive Director of the Executive MBA Program, overseeing and directing all aspects of the MBA-E: Leadership in Healthcare Program. In addition, she will be lecturing to and advising our full-time and executive students in their healthcare management studies. Ellen brings more than 20 years of health care management experience to Yale, including managed care, medical practice management and e-Commerce. Prior to joining Yale, Ellen worked for Health Net of the Northeast directing the organization’s strategic and business planning process. Before that, she spent more than five years as Assistant Vice President at CIGNA where she was responsible for National Provider Services. In this role, she was actively involved in process improvement and quality management services. Ellen is not new to the Yale community: In addition to being a School of Management graduate, she spent over 10 years at the School of Medicine first as Department Administrator then as Director of Managed Care and Business Development. In this role, she was at the vanguard of the Yale School of Medicine’s forays into managed care, actively involved in developing faculty and community-physician relationships, and successfully launching a number of successful ventures, including implementation of Yale’s Medicaid program, Yale Preferred One. Ellen holds her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Southern Connecticut State University. Ellen and her husband live in North Haven, Connecticut and have two daughters who also live in Connecticut. |
