The Yale Healthcare Conference is a joint effort between the School of Management, School of Medicine, School of Nursing, and School of Public Health at Yale University. It brings together professionals, academics, and students to engage in an informative conversation concerning existing healthcare issues. This will be the 8th consecutive year of the event, and we expect the conference to continue growing to over 400 participants.
The title and theme of the 2012 conference is “Innovation in Healthcare: Forging Transformative Solutions.” Every sector of the U.S. and global healthcare system faces a growing number of challenges, including how to absorb increasing numbers of insured patients, contain rising medical care costs, improve quality of care, adapt to new legislative regulations, and maintain competitiveness in the business market. This conference seeks to assemble key innovators across various domains in healthcare who will share the solutions they have forged in response to the challenges facing healthcare today. Specific attention will be placed on not only how these ideas are innovative, but also how they bring value-driven transformation to the healthcare system and to the various stakeholders within healthcare.
There will be two keynote speakers to open and close the day. Karen Ignagni, President and CEO of America's Health Insurance Plans, will deliver the morning address. Bernard Tyson, President and COO, Kaiser Permanente, will speak in the afternoon.
Dr. Robert Galvin, Chief Executive Officer of Equity Healthcare, The Blackstone Group, will moderate the extremely popular executive panel.
The John D. Thompson Fellow Award will be presented before the executive panel.
The Connecticut Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives has received approval for 5.5 ACHE Qualified Education credits for the Yale Healthcare Conference.
